London Olympic stadium

A computer-generated file image shows the Olympic stadium after completion, after it was unveiled in London. West Ham United have been selected as the preferred bidder to occupy the London Olympic stadium after the 2012 Games, the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) said on Friday. West Ham defeated London Premier League rival Tottenham in the battle to inherit the 496 million pound ($796 million) stadium. The unanimous recommendation from the OPLC needs to be rubber stamped by the government and London mayor Boris Johnson.
