Europe horse meat scandal continues

A picture taken on February 26, 2013 shows packages of La Cocinera meat cannelloni (L-top shelf) on sale in a supermarket in Burgos. Swiss food giant Nestle said on February 25 it had stopped using a Spanish supplier after tests determined there was horse DNA in products supposedly containing pure beef, in the latest development in a Europe-wide food-labelling scandal. Nestle insisted that the six products supplied by Servocar, a company from Casarrubios del Monte (Toledo), that are being removed from shelves in Spain, including Fusilli carne Buitoni Completissimo and Canellonni de carne La Cocinera, did not pose a food safety issue.
