The notebook features a 16.0-inch full HD display and is powered by Intel Core i7 Quad core processor featuring 2.30GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.40GHz, and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M GPU with Microsoft DirectX 11, which is designed to deliver sharp, flicker-less 3D images, with a fast response time and a wide viewing angle.

The VAIO F Series uses Frame Sequential method with LED backlit control and a pair of active shutter glasses, the same as the BRAVIA 3D TVs.

Frame Sequential method alternately displays full HD (1920 x 1080) 3D images for left and right eyes at up to 240fps high frame rate.

The F Series has a disparity control function which is designed to reproduce 3D images comfortably with its display dimension.

The new VAIO F Series also comes with a button which switches between 2D and 3D viewing modes for Native-supported 3D content material including movies on Blu-ray Disc, games and videos.

2D movies on Blu-ray Disc, DVD or personal video can be converted to simulated 3D video using the 3D button and users can connect the laptop to a compatible HDTV with 3D via its HDMI output.

Music and movies can be watched on the F Series with surround sound through headphones with Dolby Home Theatre v3.

The S-force front 3D technology creates a virtual 5.1 channel surround sound effect from two inbox bass-reflex speakers.

The new VAIO F Series has function buttons just above the keyboard for one-touch access to features.

The dedicated 'VAIO' button launches Media Gallery so users can browse through pictures, video clips and music, while touch-sensitive AV playback buttons are designed to simplify navigation through the AV library.

There is also an 'ASSIST' button that launches VAIO Care software to troubleshoot problems.

The VAIO features a backlit isolation keyboard as well as a full-size numeric keypad for quick data entry and graphics editing.

The F Series is equipped with two USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 ports and comes with Bluetooth 3.0.

The new VAIO F Series 3D notebook PC will be available across all major retail outlets in the region by April 2011.
