The images appear to show a handset consistent with rumours of a 5-inch capacitive touch-screen and The Verge speculated that the device, which appears to be customised for Chinese provider Unicom, carries an Exynos Octa 5410, the eight-core processor tipped to power Samsung's new smartphone.
The Verge based its theory on the description of the device's specifications. The handset was referred to as 'GT-I9502', and its CPU was named as a 'Universal5410' 1.8GHz processor. Based on the specs, The Verge concluded that 'Universal5410' was a stand-in code for the Exynos chip.
The device was also said to have 2GB of RAM and a PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics processor.

Samsung has a comfortable lead on Apple in the smartphone segment. In the past, analysts have cited the South Korean manufacturer's ability to bring a wide range of devices to market quickly and cover a large spread of price points as the reason for its rapid swallowing of market share.
