Sharjah E-Government will host 28 government departments and authorities at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, to highlight the different initiatives that are being undertaken by the emirate to develop electronic services.
The different government entities will be present to demonstrate their e-gov services. More than twice as many government departments will be exhibiting this year compared to last year.
Whereas 12 government departments and authorities were in attendance last time round, there will be no fewer than 28 present in 2014.
"This reflects the keenness to represent the Emirate of Sharjah to reflect the nature and the variety of efforts being practiced to enhance and further develop the electronic services offered by the governmental apparatus in the Emirate, which endeavours to utilise the latest available techniques to upgrade these services," said Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Director General of Sharjah E-government Department.
"Based on the directives of the executive council of the Emirate for the department to oversee the participation in GITEX 2014, we organised three workshops, to brainstorm ideas for GITEX, and establish seven committees to realise a genuine participation in GITEX 2014."
